Sin no more and submit to God

  • by
Sin no more and live holy says everywhere in the bible. For a long time I’ve been encouraging Christians to live their lives in repentance confessing their sins before the Lord and also to stop sinning because that’s what it says in the bible but now I can see why. When you get born again your Spirit is been renewed, is born of the Spirit of God, but your soul and body remain the same. Unfortunately many Christians have told me that everyone sins, we are all humans. Yes, we do, but be quick to repent and stop doing things that are against God. He loves you despite of your behaviour but if you love God with all your heart you will want to do things to please Him. If you get born again, filled with the Holy Spirit and baptised you will noticed that your desires are changing. You will no longer be interested in the same things you used to be. I speak from personal experience. Jesus made me a better person. Many try to do this in their own strenght but the best way to get this right is to let God change you. In the letter to Thessalonians, Paul prayed for them that through the process of sanctification to whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless. What people need is the baptism of the Holy Spirit. He will sanctify you to become more like Jesus. It’s a process but it has to start with 2 important decisions – choosing Jesus and choosing not to sin. It started with a choice but if you can’t make it repent, receive forgiveness and cast out the problem that is holding you back. It could be addiction, unfirgiveness or anything else that keeps you in bondage to sin. Christians also need to repent. Yes you may get born again when you turn to Jesus and believe and confess Him as your Saviour, but your soul and body have the same old nature. Now that we understood that you don’t have to keep living the way you lived your life before Jesus, the next step is to look at what we should do we the body? The bible says that when we get baptised we die with Christ and we raised with Christ. Your old life will be buried as you go under the water and you come up as a new creation submitted to God. Sanctification is a journey and Lord Jesus Christ does the work to transform us from the inside to become like Jesus, overflowing with the Holy Spirit being peaceful, always happy, having self control, being kind etc.
