Five Steps to Divine Healing

5 Steps to Divine Healing

By surrendering to God’s will, learning His Word, embracing forgiveness, exercising the authority to heal and practising gratitude, you as a believer can embark on a transformative journey toward receiving healing, guided by the timeless wisdom found in the Bible.

Step 1: Surrender to God’s Will

The first step toward physical, emotional, or spiritual healing is surrendering to God’s will. Recognizing that God is in control and trusting His plan is essential. In times of uncertainty, turning to the Bible for guidance provides strength and assurance.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV) – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I surrender my worries and concerns to You. I trust in Your wisdom and plan for my life. Grant me the strength to submit to Your will and find healing in Your perfect timing. In the name of Jesus I pray.

Step 2: Seek God’s Word for Healing

The Bible is a source of divine wisdom and guidance. By immersing yourself in God’s Word, you can find comfort, encouragement, and specific promises related to healing.

Psalm 107:20 (NIV) – “He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.”

Prayer: Gracious God, as I delve into Your Word, let Your healing promises become a source of comfort and strength. Speak to me through Your scriptures and guide me towards complete healing.

Isaiah 53:5 (NIV) – “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds, we are healed.”

Isaiah 53:5 foretells the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. It illustrates that through His sacrificial suffering on the cross, Jesus bore the weight of our sins and brought forth the possibility of healing, not only for our souls but also for our bodies and minds. This verse serves as a powerful reminder of the comprehensive healing available for believe in Jesus. You can receive healing in the same way and at the same time you receive salvation.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I come before You, acknowledging the profound sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ. By His wounds, I find the promise of healing for every aspect of my being. I pray in the name of Jesus that the truth in Isaiah 53:5 strengthens my faith and deepens my understanding of the all-encompassing healing available through Your grace.

Step 3: Forgive

Christian healing often involves the crucial step of embracing forgiveness. The Bible underscores the importance of forgiveness in achieving spiritual and emotional well-being.

Matthew 6:14-15 (NIV) – “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”

Prayer: Merciful Lord, grant me the strength to forgive those who have wronged me. Help me release any bitterness or resentment, allowing Your healing to flow into my heart and soul. I recognize the transformative power of forgiveness, and I choose to walk in the freedom it brings. In forgiving others, I trust Your guidance and experience the liberating joy of Your grace. In the name of Jesus, I pray.

Step 4: Exercise the Authority to Heal

As a believer, it is crucial to recognize and exercise the authority Christ gave you to heal the sick. The Bible affirms the power bestowed upon believers to pray for and bring healing in Jesus’ name.

Mark 16:17-18 (NIV) – “And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name, they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands, and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”

Jesus, before ascending to heaven, gave the believers authority to perform miraculous acts, including healing the sick and casting out demons. This authority is not rooted in personal strength but in the name of Jesus. By recognizing and exercising this authority, Christians tap into the supernatural realm of healing, aligning themselves with the divine purpose of alleviating suffering.

Prayer: Lord, I acknowledge the authority given to me through the name of Jesus. As I encounter sickness and infirmity, grant me the boldness and faith to exercise this authority, trusting in the healing power that flows from Your divine hand. May Your will be done, and may Your healing touch manifest through my prayers and actions. Amen.

Step 5: Practice Gratitude and Praise

Expressing gratitude and praise to God, even in the midst of challenges, fosters a spirit of joy and healing. The Bible encourages believers to give thanks in all circumstances.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NIV) – “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

Prayer: Gracious God, I choose to be grateful even in the face of adversity. I thank You for Your love, mercy, and the healing that is taking place in my life. May my heart be filled with praise for Your goodness.
